I'm trying to find the radiator drain plug on my 2003 explorer sport trac. Is there a diagram that shows where it is? Thanks for the help.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the 2001-2005 Sport Trac section.

It should look like a wing nut near the bottom corner of the radiator, drivers side I think. I traded my '05 on an '08 three years ago, memory is fuzzy.

That being said, when I want to drain the whole radiator I just pull off the bottom hose. Much faster that way.

On my 01 its on the passanger corner can fit a socket on it

Scroll down to radiator drain plug GASKET -8C242 and click view image. The plug is not shown in correct relation to the radiator but the gasket is, passenger side @ the bottom.

I think that its a thumbscrew from the factory, I know dorman makes a thumbscrew replacement, but when I got mine it was a plastic hex bolt, with an allen key hole in the top. Probably wasn't original, but it ssheared way too easily, if that's what yours looks like id suggest replacing it. Its like 2.99 at autozone.

Can't answer that for ya. These folks seem to know, though.

+1. I can't tell you how many times I did this when trying to solve my cooling issues with my Cougar. I think I learned this from frustration.
