in cab lights?

This is the only place I could figure to post electrical, so feel free to move need be. I just bought a 2003 limited explorer with the 4.6. My dash lights were super dim so obviously I went to turn them up and the overhead cab light comes on and will not shut off until I start driving down the road. Is this normal? If i rotate the switch all the way down until it clicks on the bottom it it turns off but I cant hardly see my dash. Also, if my driver side door is open half-way or more, I cant lock or unlock my doors. I have to barely crack the door open, lock the doors, then get out. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

Spray the door looks with wd40 or something like that.I had same problem with same suv

Look over in the 2002-05 stock forum. here are a number of threads about the door ajar switch and broken wiring in the door. A lot of us suffer from these issues.

Fixing the broken/damaged wire is not that bad. I followed the instructions in the links I provided and had mine fixed in under a 1/2 hour. Good luck and keep us posted.
