I want to install running boards to my Explorer 2008. I checked this one works for it.
My question: do I need to buy a running board mount kit to implement the installation? Is "mount kit" a tool or what? Maybe the "mount kit" is part of the running board? Thanks

Unless you already have running boards and you 're sure that the brackets will match, you'll need the mounting kit specific to the combination of the running board and your Explorer. It's a set of 6 brackets, 2 pairs of 3, 1 pair for each side.
If the Westin style is what you're looking for, you may want to look at the 27-0010, which is specific to the Explorer and may fit better. One additional difference: the 27-6135 is listed as "requires drilling during installation", while the 27-0010 uses the existing mounting holes...

Thanks for the reply.
Following your suggestion, I ordered 27-0010 and mount kit 27-1675. I hope it is a easy installation and works.

You bet! Please post a review of the installation and pics when you're done, I'd love to see how the Westin looks, compared to OEM.
