I was wondering. I'm looking at buying a DynoMax Super Turbo Cat-back system (http://store.summitracing.com/partd...7+4294907830+4294906186+4294907048+4294907039)

How hard is it to install a cat-back system? I know the system starts by bolting up, then the pipes are held together by clamps and then hung with hangars.

This seems relatively simple to install.

It's $125. But any other shop charges $165 to install. I would really like to save money on this. But if it's too hard to install, I'll have a shop do it.

What do I need to go about doing to install this?

I just did my 97 Sport 4WD this past fall with a Flowmaster. At 160,000 miles, I opted to replace the cat's and o2 sensors at the same time.
Make sure you have all the necessary gaskets - the instructions tell you to use the existing, but there wasn't much left of the old. Also, any bolts, including the spring bolts, have new ones on hand. It will save an extra trip and make life easier. I had to hit 3 different auto parts stores to get everything I needed.
I had all 4 corners up on jack stands with plenty of room to work underneath. If you're not replacing the cats, then just the back end will do. The higher you get the back the better as this is the problem area getting the pipe up and around the axle. I can't remember if the RR shock had to be off or not, I had mine off for replacement also at the same time...
Have a Sawzall and extra blades handy for easier removal too. Use antisieze during assembly may make life easier in the future...
Good luck!

So any clues on whether or not i need to remove the rear shock? and if so, what do I need to do to do this???

Thanks alot guys!

Nobody knows? lol I figured someone would have posted by now.

k thanks...
