Installing new Ignition Lock Cylinder in 1994 Explorer XLT with pics

This was a little more challenging than expected, but don't worry, very doable at home on your own. The original lock cylinder had become sloppy, and ultimately this created a battery shorting problem--metal flakes from the worn cylinder caused shorting across the contacts in the lock. Had to be changed! Found good resources of changing the cylinder online (YT) but none showing how to get the cowl removed from the steering column. Didn't take pics when apart but this should help if you have the same cowling as this 1994 Explorer 4.0L V6 XLT. 8 screws total were removed (Phillips and 7mm hex head). Replaced with Dorman 926-062 Ignition Lock Cylinder.
