It seems like my instrument cluster near the fuel gauge is dark at night . How many bulbs are on the instrument panel all together/ and how easy is the replacement of them. Thanks, Tom B.

you have to take out ur instument cluster which involves taking off the the panels under the steering column, the radio bezel, and then the trim around the cluster, then unbolting the cluster, removing the gear selecter from it and pulling it out and replacing the bulbs, if your going to spend all that time do what i did and put in reverse glow guages or something aftermarket

Welcome to this forum! Most instrument cluster bulbs are the 194 part #, but sometimes I've seen a few which are very small (almost like a mag light bulb). They get inserted into a special socket. The 194 bulbs are a wedge base design which are plugged into sockets. You turn them 1/4 turn to remove them.

I have to replace about 4 or 5 bulbs in the cluster of the new X I just bought. If you want, I'll take a photo of the back of the cluster when I do it and post it here. Lemme know.

Are the bulbs directly inserted in the back or do you have to take it the cluster apart? If you have any photos of the rear of it that would be awesome thanks alot. Sincerly, Tom B.

Do you have a link for those gauges? I was thinking about going to something different for my instrument panel.

Thanks!

:salute:

If you do take the time to open it up, I would just replace all of the lights. Save some time later on. Also, the reverse glow gauges are nice.
