I need to replace my intake gasket(s). I have heard bad things about the felpro intake gaskets. I heard that they are cork instead of rubber. The only other gasket I can find is Victor gaskets. They do not list a material however.

What gasket should I get and where can I get it? What material also?

Also. I have it torn down right now. I am just thinking is it worth it to take the heads off and replace the head gasket as well?

I usually go by the "if it ain't broke don't fix it rule" but since I am already this far I was wondering whether it was worth the extra cash my own labor to replace the head gasket.

Thanks

I really need some help on this. It is my daily driver.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I totally agree with your ' if it isn't broke . . . .'

If there is no signs of HG failure leave well enough alone.

So which intake gasket then? I hear felpros are cork and don't seal.

Thanks

You didn't mention if the engine is an OHV or SOHC?

I've had good results with FelPro for intake gaskets on
an OHV engine. I've also used Victor Reinz for valve cover
gaskets.

You may be confusing the cork material with that used on
valve cover gaskets. FelPro makes both cork and rubber,
and most use the rubber type.

It's a 95 OHV 4.0

It was specifically the intake gasket that I heard bad things about. But now I can't find that post.

Thanks

Thanks everyone.

Please let me know if anyone has anymore input.

Thanks again
