Interior light stays on

hi wondering if anyone can help me,I bought a north face Ford Explorer yesterday and the interior light remains on permanently even when the engines switched off,any one got any ideas what could be causing this and how to fixit ?thanks in advance

One possible cause is a faulty door ajar switch.

My driver side front door had a bad one. I had to pull all the interior ceiling bulbs until I could figure out what the problem was.

You sure the interior dimming switch on the dash isn't in the full ON position...which is what manually keeps the dome light on?
