My wife has a 1994 Mazda B3000 5 speed that has been a model of reliability ever since we bought it 4 years ago. Tonight she complained that ,after coming off a freeway, the engine would "race" at 3,000 rpm in neutral between gearshifts
I examined the the linkage all the way from the throttle body to the accelarator pedal, could find no problems, lubricated cable, linkage, throttle spindle and drove it for 18.5 miles, and the engine never raced ever in neutral when shifting gears.....other than floormat fouling gas pedal and unintentional leaving her foot on the accelerator during up/downshifts, any ideas?
