Inverted Skyjacker Hydro Shocks

I flipped my rear shocks boot down so they would clear the sway bar because I have raised shock mounts. I immediately noticed how springy it made the ride, almost like having no shocks at all. It seems like they're designed to compress one way and extend another. Does mounting a hydro shock upside down make it ineffective? If so, what kind of shocks can I run "upside down"?

Yep, you can't run the shocks like that or they won't do a thing for you as you've experienced. You need a mono tube shock to be able to run it body up or down. The shocks you have are twin tube and are what most lift kit mfg. offer.
