Hello, I'm struggling to find any write ups on how to replace a cracked fuel injector I have on my 2008 Explorer 4.6L. Everything I find is for the 4.0L. Can anyone lead me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

You need to remove the fuel rail:
1. Disconnect all injectors on that side
2. Remove the 2 8mm bolts holding the rail to the intake manifold.
3.Pull the rail up.
3. Remove the injector and replace.

I just was there twice in the past week fixing the intake manifold runner control module behind the manifold so I had to remove both sides. Did not drain the fuel or anything.

Just gently pull the rail up.

Smear the injectors with Vaseline when putting it back.
30 minute job

Thank you for the write up. Might try this weekend. Do you agree with most Auto shops recommending changing all the injectors instead of just one?

I am not sure I would replace all. It would not hurt if and you have extra $ 100 and to have a peace of mind - you can.
I see sets of 8 on eBay for 100 or so, get OEM only, I think Siemens makes them.
Probably I'd replace just one to start.
