Hey, I have a lead on a 2013 FPIU with 87,000 miles and 2,500 idle hours, the seller wants $12,500 canadian dollars, which is around $9,000 USD. Is this a good deal? I have also attached the carfax, I have ordered. P.S I am from Canada and have converted the miles over to US units. CARFAX

I don’t think there’s enough info here to say one way or the other.
Is it a 3.7 or TT 3.5? Service records from wherever it was a fleet vehicle? Do you know what agency it was with or what kind of work it was doing? Does it have Sync? A few things you’ll want to consider with one of these.

It comes down to drivetrain and maintenance and what's going on under the hood. Personally the reason I like the PIUs is mostly due to the 3.7, I would pass on a 3.5L Ecoboost. Drive it and feel how the transmission shifts. Check the ATF, oil, look for leaks on at the timing cover and underneath. One of the few issues with the 3.7 is the water pump. It should weep if it's going bad. In northern climates I am also always going to be concerned about rust in the doors and rocker panels and frame. This is coming from someone in Alaska. For me if the drivetrain and rust are in good shape then I know I can change the interior to whatever I want. Also plug in an engine scanner and see the last time the engine code was scanned. If it's less than 100 cycles I would probe the seller.
