well my tranny is slipping and wont go in to gear sometimes, soo i figure its time for a new one, and i dont want the a4ld i need a stronger one, which one should i get a 5r55e auto or a m5r1 manual tranny swap? i also need one to stand the abuse of a supercharger and 35's soo which would be better? 5r55e or m5r1?

The manual would be a better choice vs the A4LD/4R55E/5R55E. You should also consider a 700R4 Swap with an adapter from Advance Adapters.

the 700r4 swap is soo much more then i really want to spend, i can get a manual tranny from a junk yard with the clutch for only $800-1000 and then get it installed for $400 soo it would be cheaper then the 700r4, but is the auto to manual a easy swap?

and isnt the 5r55e tranny stronger than the a4ld?

Its like a grandchild. Its much improved, but its computer controlled. I don't know of a way to put it in a 91.

I would go with a C5 myself (2 speed auto). Wait....I did in my old ranger.

You can build them as strong as you want using C4 parts. Or use C5 parts in a built C4.

i guess ill just swap a maunal tranny under it, how hard would that actually be? im not doing it but i would like to know how long it should take the average mechanic
