Well, I finally got in. As of a day ago I swore into the US Army. For a month I was temporarily disqualified because of a chest surgery I had 8 years ago but my waiver finally came through. The job I chose is Health Care Specialist, which will give me a decent background for when I get into Med-School. On Oct. 9th I ship out to Fort Knox for 9 weeks of basic and then it's off to Fort Sam Houston(?) in Texas for 17 weeks of job training. Woo-Hoo. I'm so excited!!

I've heard the Army is the only branch that qualifies you for Paramedic health care. Is this true?

Anyways, congrats man!

Good luck to you......

I don't know if they are the only branch that does that but after my active duty is over I will be qualified to get a job as an EMT (ambulance medic) or LPN. Thanks for the support everyone.:)

Good luck, i just got out of the army....91SN4

You are going to have a blast at Fort Sam Houston! Stay out of trouble there

Hell yea!!! Good luck out there man, and have fun.

you're a better man and I ;)

I remember when I was 12 my parents took me to an Army Camp for a tour. My mother told me, "son, look at those Army guys and how proud they walk accross the field."

Once you become one it seems like you stand out from the rest of the crowd from just the way you walk.

Good luck man. Your folks must be proud.

way to go man. we know you'll make us proud :us:

congrats man! good luck!

paramedic

The Coast Guard is the only branch that trains you as a paramedic I believe Cape May is where they get there training

one of my best friends went though fort knox for basic, he said it was quite tough, when he went for air borne school at another base he said the guys from other bases are pansys compared to the guys that roll out of fort knox. great job man
