Hello everyone, I have done an extensive search on all types of lifts and have come to the decision that the james duff 2.5/3" will fit my needs. Is there anyone out there who has this lift? What are your opinions? Should I wait and get the stage II or is it a waste of money compared to performance? Thanks for all the help, God bless you all! GREAT SITE!

the duff is a sweet mild lift...this is what i would get if i were going to do mild....but eventually i want 33s witheh the 5.5 stupidlift....

as soon as i buy a bumper [i dont currently have one] it will be the duff....

I have the stage 1 lift. I didn't think that dual shocks were neccessary because it's not like I will ever jump it. Besides, my single Bilstein is a hell of a lot better than 2 of the Duff shocks. The extended radius arms however, I would like to have but I dont think that they are all that needed. With only 2.5" of lift the increase of movement in the front won't really be all that effected with the radius arms. I would say that the stage 1 is a better buy. If you want the stage 2 though, then definatley get it. I really like my lift. It looks very proportional and rides very nice. I may end up doing an extra spacer/shackle lift so I can fit 32's, but I really like it how it is. And for about 600 dollars (shipping and the extended brakelines) it is well worth it.

tire sizes

Thanks guys, many people were telling me that I couldn't fit 31's without a lift but I'm having no problems with that (stock rims). I've been ofroad several times and haven't had any rubbing. With the 2.5" lift, would 32 x 11.5 fit on stock rims as well? Thanks again!

Personally I wouldn't put an 11.5 inch wide tire on a 7 inch rim. You'd be better of with an 8" rim with a little less backspacing, that way you wouldn't rub the sway bar and possibly radius arm. With the stock backspacing you might.

I don't think 32's would fit with just the 2.5" lift. My 31's rub with the lift when off road but you may be able to fit them. It just depends on the Explorer. You would be better off putting coil spacers in after the lift then you would most likely be cleared for 32's. Go to a tire shop and have them mount one on and see if it fits. Most will do it for free.

Right, Right!

Thanks Byrd and KEbert! I'll try that. However I hate to give up the factory rims, I really like the look of them. It seem that the 2Dr Sports have more fender clearance than the 4Dr. Maybe it's just an optical allusion! Anyway, Thank's again. [I do wonder about the new BFG 33 x 10.5!] HMMMMM!
