It rained good today so decided to attempt to find the dominant tire by doin a little spin off while it good and wet to be less stress on the drive terrain, but it didn't spin she jerked, jumped, and shook to take off....... Never had a rig that didn't spin on wet pavement so what's wrong here?
Park brake is not working, pedal locks and spring up but no hold, not sure if it could be partially engaged and the cable broke or sping broke in the drum ain't checked it since brakes work and I don't use park brake much.

The parking brake on our trucks are known for failing, and getting stuck on, most of the time without us even knowing, and eventually the parking stops working. It happened to me, but before I got it, it is at the bottom of my list.... I am wondering if you had wheel hop possibly, and it spun a little. Wheel hop is normal for leafed trucks, it may happen more ion sports with their mono leaf design. I honestly don't know 100%, just giving some suggestions.

Sounds like wheel hop

So it's nothing to worry about on this model? I just want to catch problems before a breakdown occurs.

Does the truck have 4wd?

Nope 2wd 5-Speed manual

Well, then spinning your tires isn't a good idea ---:confused:

Trying to find my dominant tire, you know the one that does the main pulling. Know it or not that tire gets the most abuse and as I buy a new set of tires (1 at a time most likly) that one will be first and then last as I'll move it to the front when I get my last new tire and put a new one on that wheel.

The dominant tire is strictly determined by the current load on that tire. And this varies based on what's loaded in the vehicle, camber of the road and a variety of other factors. Bottom line- it won't always be the same tire.

I miss postrac rear ends this limited slip junk is confusing. You say it changes my dad says one side is always dominant dependant on rearend design. Never had a question on postrac both tires spun or none at all lol

Cool I thought Trac lock was new had a girl with a trans-am that had it, push a button and smoke both tires my dad's new Toyota has it too but he thinks it makes it full postrac wait til I show him these vids lol
Mine is just limited slip no trac lock button for me

OK, now you are referring to a "selectable locking differential"

Damn too many terms when I worked car lot we was taugh limited slip, postrac, and the trac control (limited slip until you push the button then postrac) course we was taught to sell to real people not "science addicted mechinal engineers" lol

I think the wheel hop is just a manual transmission thing. My Thunderbird went from roasting tires as an auto the hoping the wheels as a manual.

Once the tire spins, the water goes away pretty fast-grabs traction-wheel hop. You live in arkansas, goose it in some gravel or dirt. Don't nail it, just goose it. Which ever way the truck is leaning, the other one will spin like ole boy said. The dominant tire is the one you don't want spining when you need traction.LOL

Wheel hop isnt a manual vs auto thing...
Wheel hop is a traction issue. Its caused by the rapid loading and unloading of the suspension. Basically when power is applied, the spring winds up until it cant take any more torque and unloads. It repeats this cycle and we call it wheel hop.

Definatly not a manual tranny thing this is my 9 or 10th stick I love em and this is the first time I ever had this wheel hop issue.
