Just bought a 2000 XLT v8, gas mileage/HP improvements?

Hi. I just bought a 2000 XLT V8. What are some ways I can get increased gas mileage? Cold air intake, new mufflers and the like? Also, can I get said improved gas mileage WITH increased HP?

Torque Monster Headers, cai and better exhaust system, then get a sct x3 tuner from james.

Not cheap, but lots of fun!! Nice hp gains and around 2 mpg increase. The mods will pay for themselves if you can keep your foot out of it.

Therein lies the problem,I get about 15/17 with mine right now.
