Hello,

I was looking at the front end of this Explorer I just got (It drives nice and is in great shape, v8 automatic) and when I changed the oil I was looking under the front bumper and I see a stabilizer type bar up higher then lower there are two hook shaped cradles welded to the frame and holes above where there were fresh bolts removed. Am I missing a second stabilizer? Is this for add on's. I want to make sure it has everything it came with. It drives perfect so I just cannot figure this out and I can't find a stock pic of the front suspension. If anybody can help me I would really appreciate it, thanks.

A picture would help... Barring one I suspect that you are referring to the jacking hooks welded to the front cross-member (can't remember the exact name of those things, but that's what Ford wants you to use for jacking up the front of the truck). My guess is that a previous owner drilled holes in them and used them to attach a brush guard or something similar, then removed it prior to selling the vehicle.

You nailed it, I called the PO after I found his number, it was a brush guard. Those hooks along with fresh holes missing bolts really made me nervous. Thanks!
