I have a 2000 Ford Explorer, 4.0L V6. My problem is, it completly shuts off in high outside temperatures. Example: If it gets above 80 degrees outside, either driving down the stree or highway, my car will just shut off. Most of the time I can restart it, by putting it in nutural or pulling over and waiting a few minutes.
I get no warning lights or signals. First the gauges go crazy then it all goes off. In a matter of seconds. Had it checkeda few times and all that i could afford to change at the time was the fuel filter (which was filthy). I have been told it might be the fuel pump. but i need some ideas and hopefully some price ideas.
Thank you
