Hey guys,
Well I just had a guy leave with a 76mm C&L mass air meter along with a 70mm TB on a 4.0 SOHC, 98 model. The C&L had a clamp on filter on the end of it as well and his idle quality wasn't all that great and his CEL was coming on.
After a few tweaks to the MAF transfer function we got it straight and his CEL is no more along with a great idle. We plan on going to the dyno April 9th to see what kind of numbers he's gonna make as he has EVERYTHING. JBA headers, 3" MAC exhaust, 76mm C&L, and a 70mm TB in a 98 auto Sport. Should be interesting.
The biggest thing was this TB, he used a 70mm 4.6 GT Motorsports TB and he had to modify the intake behind the TB a bit it fits perfectly and even the throttle and cruise cable hook right up. It looks great and responds well to throttle too.
This is gonna be a fun one, who knows we may even be able to make the factory HP rating at the wheels. We'll see!
This also gives me the full transfer function of the 76mm C&L Maf for an Explorer, C&L is sending me a 73mm MAF as well to try out that day that should be a pretty much stock replacement. So if anyone wants to get a 76mm C&L and needs a tune just let me know.
Thanks, Doug.
P.S. On a side note, I hear that Pro-M's won't be anymore problems in the future, or should I say what future for Pro-M
