What do the instructions on the bottle say?
I think you let it dry naturally, oil it, and then put it back after 30mins or so.

Just did it this weekend. follow the directions on the recharge kit, and dont use any other oil on it than what comes in the kit or you will ruin the filter. Wash it, let it dry, then oil it well, let it sit 20 minutes and look for any whites spots, then if you dont see any put it back in service, if you see any, spray some more oil on it.

POINT, you cna never over oil the filter, in fact for off road apps, they recommend spraying extra oil on it. The oil is what does the filtering, the cotton gauze is just there to hold the oil.

Ok thanks. I let it dry over night and sprayed it this morning before I went to work.

Well Kilroy, I will differ with you on this point.
You can oil the filter too much, thus causing the excess to get on to the MAF sensor and destroy it.
Yes you can add more to the filter, if you are off-roading in a dirtier envorinment, but that is because the dust will soak up the oil and dry out the filter.

Well yah if you toss it in right after oiling :)

This oil kinda acts like lithium grease, it stiffens after exposed to air for a while.
