I was shopping around and was going to get a new air filter. Obviously im not going to buy the standard paper filter. With my experience with my 87 mustang, the cold air kit that leaves the filter in the engine bay (which is mostly what i see for the 4.0 SOHC motors) is not really a neccessity for performance vs. a high flow filter in the stock location. Is this true with the explorers also? And i had a question if anyone has ever used the accel blue high flow filter similar to the k&n? Is it junk or should i just go ahead and buy the K&N.
