Hey,
I currently have a drop in K&N Filter on my '92 Explorer and I was wondering what you guys think about K&N's. I have ran them in my motorcycles for over 9 years and havent had a problem with them but I have heard some both negative and positive things about them...Let me know what you guys think about them...

Thanks,
Ominous Racing Team

Welcome to the site. First off they are more for performance than anything else. There are pluses and minuses to them. They allow more air to flow when compared to a stock one. It will let some smaller dust particles through than would a papre element. However, it is very little. Overall they are a great product. If you do a search on this board, many people will approve of them, as well as the S&B brand and others.

Alright cool thanks...I was just wondering how well they work on trucks...

Thanks,

I have run a K&N FIPK II in my truck for about 3 years now. I Love it! It adds better throttle response, a little more power and slightly better gas milage. Whats not to love? The only bad thing about it is the cost, which in all honesty really isn't that bad compared to other mods, and sometimes depending on your throttle position it can make a whinning noise.

If you want the cone, but dont want to spend the $, look into the KKM.

i have put k$ns in my moms car and my dads cars they work well
..some people say that the oil on the filter can go down the intake and clog things up..but i have never had that happen just dont over do the oiling =) also make sure u keep them clean u should clean it atleased when u change your oil
