No I used 3/4 spacer and relocating the power steering hose. So I am not to high cause the firewall. Had snout machine cut to 11in and a half of 1/16in. Lot of mods but almost there. Cut mustang snout bracket to rest on power Steering bracket and then figure out to belt.I wonder if you could raise the blower to clear the power steering? A phenolic spacer is available.
I say it was machined at 11 1/32 in on the snout. No I used 3/4 spacer and relocating the power steering hose. So I am not to high cause the firewall. from bolt on to supercharger to the end of pulley. I am using the same idler on the explorer engine. to rap of the belt on the pulley is 3/4 so a good rap. I did not beat my firewall at all but did dent a bit at the brake booster area. nice clean job, I think.Awesome to share the length of the Drive/snout. Is that to the pulley mounting surface or where?
Cool on spacer and the height, I beat-in the firewall a bit to fit. I was able to use the Bronc/F150 snout bracket but did have to eliminate the stock idler pulley and add it back to the Bronc/F150 bracket, does not matter, because I got lucky finding an F150/Bronc kit.
Your efforts could be very cool for someone else to follow cause, as you know, that KB kit is available!
here is the old (first pic) and here is the new (second pic). still have some bugs to get out like upper hose and little things but almost ready to go.from bolt on to supercharger to the end of pulley. I am looking for a fox body snout. If anyone has one for sale. I want a back up incase the setup I fabricated fails. I machined it at 11in 1/16 and really needs to be 11in 1/32 so want to be ready. I all leans to the belt alignment. Thank you.your old picture is the one that was on my truck, i mean my picture,
it's not that I can machine the pulley, I just want to have a spare snout incase my fabrication needs improvement. that's all I want a spare for. I take trips and just to have a spare is like insurance. The pulley or spacer could be taken down 1/32" on a lathe very easily.
I bet you see 8lbs or better with that pulley.
Good luck!
not thinking there are few or not any 2000 explorers like this.
i want a supercharged 5.0 in an explorer! but this sohc wont kick the can (not that thats a bad thing by any means!) dont get me wrong this sohc is tough as nails its stood up to more miles than 95% of trucks will ever see and its been the best truck i think we've ever owned... but a 5.0!Very few if any for sure! Troll supercharged a similar explorer way back many moons ago but not with a kennbelle… basically as soon as the explorer came out with a 302 under the hood somebody somewhere supercharged it lol
Congrats on getting her going! Should be a hoot to drive
