After a search for old threads about this subject there was nothing current so I thought this might help someone.
One of the key FOB's for my 2016 ExPlat was just about worn out and without buying an entire (and expensive) FOB I came across an easy and inexpensive way to solve the problem.
If the inner circuitry of your present FOB still works just purchase a 'FOB case shell' and transfer the old internal parts to the empty new 'FOB', it's that simple. This a 10 minute job you can do yourself for less than $20, plus it comes with a new blank key you can have cut for a spare.
Make sure to also buy a couple of CR2025 batteries so they are fresh in your new FOB, check to make sure you get the polarity right when putting the batteries in place on top of each other. A small screwdriver can help separate the shell and it can be difficult to snap the new FOB case back together, just take your time, this is a job for your fingers - no need for pliers or a hammer.
My new FOB works and looks like new. Have a great day...
