key fob randomly stops working

so i’m having this issue and have had it since I bought the car where the key fob randomly stops working and starts working when you unplug and replug the battery. there’s really no more info than that. I am trying to find a potential cause or way to fix it. anyone having the same problem?

Key Fobs are cheap enough from the net, and easy enough to reprogram, get two or three.

Are you sure it isn't just a weak battery that needs replaced? I'd also look for corrosion or grime on the battery contacts, broken solder joints on the circuit board.

Does it use encased microswitches, -OR- conductive circuit board traces with a carbon film on the button pad contacts? If the latter, possibly the battery manipulation shifts that around just enough to work temporarily and they may need gently cleaned.

well also the like door ajar light comes on and then the fob stops working. like when I unplug when replug the battery it goes away then comes back shortly
