Keyless Entry 97 XL

Hello I am new to this forum and Ford Explorers also
I recently bought a 97 Ford Explorer XL 4 Door 4X4
Love it but I was only given one key and no key fob
I cut a couple of keys and they work great

Is there anyway to see if remote keyless entry will work if I buy a Keyfob and get it programed. I did try turning the key off and on 5 times to see if would enter progamming mode but nothing happened.

Is there anywhere I can look to see if my truck has remote entry features

I to would like to know if a 97 XL came with the Keyless Remote Entry feature. I just picked up 3 old fobs from the Kia dealership I used to work at that were left over from sold vehicles but I couldn't get it into the programming mode.

Keyless entry in an XL? I doubt it.
You can see if you have a RAP module in the jack compartment, but I wouldn't count on it.

Supposedly the power locks and windows themselves were considered an upgrade in an XL, tho I've never seen an Explorer without them.
