Does anyone know the best place to buy a keyless entry remote for a 2004 explorer?

I found these 2 websites but I don't know how reliable they are:
shoppalstores
autotransponder

Thanks

I would guess Ford. That is where I would go.

I called the ford dealership and they said they charge 70 dollars for it so I am hoping one of these websites that sells it for 30 bucks is legit.

I got one from the eBay seller mykeyless. It was $12.95 + $4.95 S/H. Shipping was pretty fast. It comes with programming instructions in case you don't have your owner's manual, although I can give you programming instructions. The remote was new, had a battery, has lock, unlock, panic, and lift-gate glass buttons, and still works flawlessly after 6 months. It is after market and not a Ford unit but they look almost identical. I would recommend getting one from mykeyless.

Hope this helps out.

Check eBay. My last fob was $4.95 plus $2.95 shipping. Legit refurbers, especially vendors with multiple (dozens) of fobs for sale and online instructions for programming.

Now is the time to get fusion keys!

I posted a thread about them here

I dont think so... you program the key and then program the remote, just in the say way as if they were separate. Should work on any 3rd gen and up.
