Keyless remote question for an 01 Sport.

Hey guys

I got a question regarding my 01 sport. My keyless remote is acting up lately.

Whenever I wanna disarm my explorer i push the unlock button on the remote and it doesnt unlock the doors I keep on pushing it on harder and it still don't do anything. I dunno if it is getting jammed or what.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt work but when I arm to lock it. The lock button works it just the unlock one.

And today i was going to do some errands so i decided to just open up the sport with the keyless code and then the alarm went off so i went to try to shut it off by turning on the igniton and it still didnt go off.

So i tried to hit the unlock button i pressed real hard and finally it disarmed.

So i am just wondering if my unlock button is jammed or stuck on the remote do you guys know what i should do.

I was thinkin maybe my battery on the remote is low but i dunno.

So i am posting a question to see what you guys think might me the problem.

Do you have another remote to test? It sounds like it's either a low battery or the remote is going bad.

i might have one back home in so cali but i am not to sure. And i'll probably get a new battery and give it a shot.

alright i am off to the store i am going to go buy a 3 volt battery and see if that helps. I be back later and keep u updated if it works or not.

The CR2032 is the same battery that is used on computer motherboards, and they usually last a long time.

i tried that and it still didnt work i put new battery an no luck

Hm id say your remotes going bad...

You can order them on eBay for like 2 for 20$

Or autozone...one for like 50$ lmao

if i get them on ebay or autozone do i have to program them or wat

They have to be programmed. You could ask a local alarm shop how much they would charge for a new one.
