When accelerating, I hear a loud knock or pop noise coming from the drivetrain. I pulled the rear diff cover off and the ring & pinion looked good. Some of the spider gears looked pitted, but none broken, and no sign of metal shavings. I dropped the front driveshaft and the noise was still present. It only happens when you give it gas, and it occurs when driving in a straight line, not necessarily when turning. The noise is extremely loud. It's a 99 EB 4x4 with a 4:10 limited slip rear end

I assume you checked ujoints? I ha e also had dry leaf springs try to stick and pop before Jack it up from your receiver or frame bumper somthing and get them to spread apart and lube them up. The noise they make is very loud when they bind up.
