KOH Feb. 1-9 who is going?

..It's just about Hammer time..

Who is going and who has a vehicle in the race?..Anyone going in the stock or super stock class this year?

..I just received this info today for scheduling..

King of the Hammers Week
Johnson Valley OHV, Johnson Valley, CA

King of the Motos - February 3rd
4 Wheel Parts Last Chance Qualifying - February 5th and 6th
Smittybilt Every Man Challenge - February 7th
Griffin King of the Hammers - February 8th

I will be there Monday or Tues to Saturday. Not sure what I will be doing yet. Either roaming around or running a pit for a friend in the main race.

As of right now I am planning to stay on the lakebed all week in a friend of a friend's RV.

Tell me about it. My ranger is still sitting on the exact same spot on the trailer now as it was when I loaded it to go home at KOH last year. Still haven't fixed the mess I made of it last year at KOH. At least I was able to take Tracy's explorer wheeling out here in VA with some of the local members.

Only problem is Tracy and Bailey will be out here in Virgina with me. In March we load up and drive the explorer 3000 miles to CA with a 2 year old. Should be thrilling.

Hope when I get this project I will be able to spend some time on the ranger.

my dad lives in san Diego and I am going to visit soon and we wanted to see some desert action!
our gear would be very limited since all my stuff is here in va.... We would be in a 02 Taurus...
opinions on which even to attend?

Sweet! Yeah was going to say, if I'm travelling 3,000+ miles I'd hope my dad and I could get a ride or two...

..Don't get me wrong though...KOH is a blast and unique on it's own but at TH you can meet with several like minded nuts with the same kind of vehicles in every configuration just enjoying themselves..

..KOH is more technically advanced and is now a Professional hobby with onsite vendors..

Stay for 3 weeks and do both. KOH in a taurus would suck. You can get to the main camp area fine but trying to get out to the trails to watch would be hard and more than likly result in getting stuck. Any stock 4wd would work though. At koh you wouldnt get much wheeling in and in reality you know more about the race on the internet then in person. If I did only one it would probably be truckhaven.

I've wanted to make it out a few years now, but have been working that week. I am going to pencil it on the calendar as going! Anyone have any good trip reports or anything I can look at to see what I'm in for?
