Kris Guilbeaux' 91 Eddie Bauer 2dr "Goldilocks"

This is my 1991 Eddie Bauer 2dr Goldilocks. I had been on a search to purchased an Eddie Bauer 2dr for years. Mainly a Gold and tan combo one. Throughout my search 13 years or so. I had only come across 3 counting this one. Hints the name "Goldilocks", it was just right. So when I found this one in California going through insurance auto Auctions with a clear title I knew I had to jump on it. Thankfully EF member Section525 lived close by enough to pick it up for me once the auction closed. He stored it for me for nearly two months while I found a shipper for the Explorer.

Many things are planned to make this Explorer better. A full paint and body restoration is in plans along with few later model Explorer upgrades. 4wd conversion and a frankentranny build at the same time. Spacers, shackles, and 31s. Brake Upgrade with 95-97 Ranger calipers and disc brake rear. Just to name a few of the plans in store.

Well it would not surprise me in the least... I do plan to correct this if that's the case, because I have this Ash tree in the front of the house that drops tons of leafs.

Yeah, check the blower resistor (next to the blower motor) in the HVAC box. You may have to pull the blown motor and clean some leaves out of the box too.

With the help of Russell We have started the electrical upgrades on Goldie. The goal is to get the wiring in and working before starting the body work and prepping for paint.

some of these upgrades required welding and cutting of sheet metal to allow for some of these upgrades.

Which include:
97+ power sunroof
96 Memory Seats
00 Heated Puddle lamp mirrors
Factory keyless entry with door key pad.
One touch down for the driver side window

Here is the hole that was cut in the roof

And here is the door harness that was modified to except the new features

Not only does Kris perform 2wd to 4wd conversions he is now doing sunroofs! Amazing. Cant wait to see the work progress, always good stuff!

Would I need a diff harness to add puddle lights to a 1995 model?

On a 95 if you have a light in the door all you have to do is tie in to the door light and you have a light on the mirror no need to replace your harness

Thanks Kris, may need to order some puddle lamps, always liked them.

Awewome job guys! Can hardly wait to see what Goldilocks will look like.

Great work! I wish I had a sunroof but with my luck I would measure wrong and end up cutting a whole to big and screwing up big time

So a few other things in the process. A 95 Taurus keyless entry with keypad. and the 4wd wiring harness for when I do the 4wd conversion. Oh yeah its gonna get 4wd as well.

What would a Kris Kustom be without a 4wd conversion?? Definitely Not a Guilbeaux Special thats for sure.
