My ex decided that she didn't want to stop recently, so I limped her into a shop. They told me that my front left caliper was "loose" and that I need to replace both front calipers and roters. I can't afford the price they quoted me right now, I will be able to in about a week and a half, unfortunately I can't wait that long to get my ride back.

Is there any way that I can disconnect or block the front left brake line or even both front brake lines and have the ex limp around on just rear brakes? Nothing else is leaking or causing any other problems.

Thanks.

Needless to say, the answer is no. Ask the shop to just tighten the caliper and tell them you will be back in a week or 2 to have the rest of the work done. Tell them you don't expect any warranty or guarantee.

you would be the cause of accidents or a single car rollover rear brakes only would cause you to go into an uncontrolled spin just about every time you came to a stop. the calipers front brakes on your car are very easy to do even for a beginner. its often the first thing anyone does for the first time when it comes to fixing there own car well lube oil filter is number one but ft brake job pretty good match though.

Look for a good write up by Glacier. Search for "brakes Glacier front", the rotors and pads can be had for less than $150 total. Have the front seals changed also($5). Good luck,
