My old 92 explorer is leaking at valve cover. Do any chemical products like Bar's etc work on valve cover gaskets? Dixiedog:salute:

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 91-94 section. Stop leak chemicals are like a temporary patch since they cause old seals to swell. Replace the gasket with a new rubber gasket such as the Permatex style. They don't use any sort of adhesive to make the bond. Unbolt the valve cover, scrape off the old gasket, then install a new gasket, and don't over tighten the bolts.

Yea anything you put in the oil probably won't even help that much since the valve covers only get splashed with oil. Just replace the gaskets. If you are mechanically inclined at all you can do it in a day without much trouble.

You may have to remove the upper intake manifold to get to them both, however if it is just the left side you can get it easily without removing much.
