Current ad Ford is running with the Explorer. When Mike hits the button to lower the 3rd row seats, the headrests automatically are released and fold down as the seat begins its process.

Tried it, and what'd you know, they do!! :D

Since 2011 they have been auto stowing them self, o o o sorry you are a newbie !!!!!!!

An Elite newbie, at least. Good thing he paid for a membership to get that comment.;)

The second row headrests do not fold down automatically so it would stand to reason that the third row would behave in a similar fashion. Especially since a release strap is there.

Here is another newbie, no the thrid row if it's automatic with just the press of a button if the head rest are up they will fold automatic, since 2011

Two newbies with Elite memberships and a multi-year moocher. Who should be calling out who?

Hear hear. I'm used to folding seats in vehicles that don't have automatic headrests, and when I saw the release straps, I assumed it wasn't automatic either. So what if the guy didn't know before the commercial. Better than the dozens of guys on here that argue about stuff they don't know or just repeat old-wive's tales. The guy found something out and was impressed with it, then shared it in case others didn't know. You should be thanking him for contributing, even if you didn't find it useful. Or at the very least, adding to the discussion without trying to insult him.

Dude, you need a smiley face after your comments so people don't think you are just trying to be an arse ;)

LOL :D Well put. That said, can I call someone out? Do I gots enough postin's? :)

Don't be sad. I thought we were just making sly comments. If I was out of line, I do sincerely apologize. I did spend the better part of two years as a "wannabe elite explorer."

Hey, I also did not know this but then I don't use the third row. It is always folded.
I just tried it and it works as designed. The only problem now is that the passenger side seat does not fully return to normal unless I press the NORMAL button a second time. No big deal though. They are once again folded.:)

Peter

UPDATE: Seats folded/unfolded properly when I had the vehicle running this time.

I wonder why I knew that you would have something to input on my post? :D

Take care my friend. Had our first snowfall last night 1-2 inches worth.:)

Peter
