LED Red Tail Lamps???

Has anyone seen the replacement tail light bulbs that are LED's? I've seen them in magazines and they seem pretty cool, but has anyone seen an Explorer with them or does anyone have them? I mean they are supposedly only $15, so it won't be a waste of money just to buy them and see how they look myself. But if anyone can tell me if they look any different from the stock tail light bulb. If anyone has no idea what I am talking about, if you read Truckin', they have a good picture of them in the "Autobahn Wholesale Inc" ad section. Any info would be helpful.

godfathers customs has them but they are $30. also they will never burn out from what i am told. we need the 3157 for our trucks. the $15 are for the 1157 round base. also several ricer places have them too. try www.autosyndicate.com

i have them in my clears. they are real small when the light up during the day, it looks like a litle round dot in the taillight. at night they are beautiful, much brighter than stock. i like mine casue they give it that unique look. i got them from godfathercustoms. they are the jamstrait leds. you need a heavy duty flasher as well in order to make them work.

Exactly what Bigcheck1 said. I have the same Jamstrait LED's from godfathers mounted in my clears. Not that impressive during the day, but at night they are awesome. More of a true red than the stock tails. I don't have a heavy duty flasher though. What exactly is that needed for?

I forgot to post this before, but How do these bulbs perform in a set of clears during the day?

they light up as little dots, they are maybe only an inch around. they do givce it a custom look though. kinda hard to see, but if you keep the bulbs working in the 3rd brake light, you're good.

So I am assuming that during the day these bulbs don't really light up the clear tails during the day?

they light up, just not the whole lens, they really do look like 1 inch dots in the lens, at night they are incredible though.

They produce more of a pencil beam than regular bulbs. Kinda like driving lights vs. fog lights. During the day they don't light up the whole tail light housing, just a red circle in the middle.
