I installed a set of LED tail lights w/ resistors and LED flasher unit on my 94 X. But now my cruise and Overdrive will not work. If I have my running or head lights off, my cruise and OD work fine. As soon as I pull the light switch both stop working... Any suggestions

Thanks for looking,

J

Sounds to me like you're loosing a ground or the lights are back-feeding into it and the other systems are loosing the ground. You may consider running a dedicated ground for the taillights and see if it helps.

I like your thinking, I just rebuilt the 4.0 and A4LD in the truck. When re-installing the engine and trans, I connected two 4/0 gauge ground wires to the frame from the engine and trans. I have not yet done the same to the rear of the truck. It's common in the rust belt to lose components to loose or rusted grounds. I remember swapping out 2 working wiper motors, only to find I had a bad ground to the fire wall.

Thanks for your observation and suggestion,

J
