Let’s talk LUBE

Just picked up a 99 Explorer Sport 4.0 SOHC and this things got to last me. So close to hitting 120k, its time to lube her up. Checking on this and other sites, I just want to make sure that I’m getting the right stuff as well as the right amount.

Transfer Case 2 quarts of Mercon V or Max Life ATF
Front Diff. 2 quarts 80W90
Rear Diff. 2 quarts 85W140
Transmission 16 quarts of Mercon V or Max Life ATF
Motor Oil 5 quarts 5w30 or 4 quarts oil 1 quart Lucus oil stabilizer.

Is your rear axle a limited sliip or open? Also the t-case doesn't need mercon 5, mercon 3 is suf###ient. Wouldn't hurt to change out the power steering fluid too..

It's a little over 2.5 quarts for the rear diff, I would also bleed your brakes until clean fresh fluid comes out of each caliper.

Should I pay more and go for MAX LIFE?
