So according to their data, I can gain 4-8 HP all the way through the power band by swapping to 1.7 rollers on a stock cam, not to mention the other added benefits like a cooler running engine (due to less friction.)

What about the spring size?

Well, spring size anyone, I'm putting my order together...

So what are the cam specs of that, the Jeg's site was no help?

For a new engine or high mileage I'd change lifters. But I would not buy new roller lifters if the mileage isn't high. I don't want to pay more than about $200 for a new camshaft, and $50 or so should buy a true roller timing chain set.

I fortunately have the used cam which I had bought new for my 91 302 HO engine build. I think it will be a decent first cam for my project, I've already paid for it($180 then).

Hunt around for other cam recomendations, surely something else is more reasonable than $261.

So 208 intake duration and 216 exhaust, with a 112 lobe separation angle. I recall that being a cam that I mentioned sounds very good. The Ford cams are all over 220 duration on the intake side, which is way too much for our heavy trucks with automatics.

Mine is a 212/222 cam which may be a hair more than I need, but mine will be a testing baseline engine first. Regards,

I'm winning on an E cam on Ebay right now. People here have done it and it works. I'm also looking into 1.6 roller-rockers, I'm going to do the same set up he did for his with the 1" intake spacer, 1.6 rollers, I'm hunting valve covers now.

I would like to do springs too while I'm at it. Unfortunately, nobody knows what size the springs are.

Does not Summit list a replacement spring for an Explorer 302? I would suggest doing the springs also, those should be done every 100k or so if possible, just like timing chains. Regards,
