Did this a while back and forgot to post up. For better light dispersion especially with LED bulbs, I took apart the bulb housings and sprayed with primer and then chrome spray paint. The way I saw it was the LED chips not facing downward were not really projecting too much light since they were pointing at black plastic. So out of the 9 chips maybe 3 were actually giving good output. I used my trusty Swiss Army knife flat head screw driver. It is smooth and just slightly thicker than the groove between the lens and housing. Run it all the way around and you can see the lens separate from the housing. Takes like a minute or less.
Forgot to take a pic, but mask off the housing and spray with a primer that will stick to plastic because the chrome paint is runny and needs something to stick to. Do light coats and let cure in between coats until desired finish.
It ends up looking like this.
Glue the lens back on for the finished product.
Didn't try but if you don't feel comfortable painting you could probably use aluminum tape from the hardware store. Apply to the inside and get a similar reflective quality.

Hope it makes sense. Enjoy!
