OK. so my new Ra's are hear and the old frunt end is out. but these arms messed up all my bolts. they went in fine till they came out the other side the it wound strip them and lock them up. so i was thinking just buy longer bolts to go all the way through and put a nut on the end. would that work? and i will have pics tomorrow. :) need to get batteries.

i dont see why it wouldnt

Drilling them out will work fine. I've seen a number of people do it that way. Not only does it make it easier to mount, but it gives you a chance to get good grade 8 hardware.

OK so no one in this city has the bolts i would need. so i just replaced the old ones and tried to find the right tap to re thread the arm. and no one has a tap big enough. i did get the pass side bucket off Will post pics tonight :)

OK well my buddy is stopping bye tomorrow to pic up the 3rd member :) and i finally got some pics lol
seen this before.

and i need some new jack stands thes are in the way now.

I would do something about that track bar bracket. Those welds don't look very good and the frame on Ex's and Rangers has been know to tear in that area. I would cut the bracket off, then weld it securely to a plate and bolt it back on using the bolts from the steering box. You could also plate that area and then weld the bracket back on.

Looks like you're making good progress. What gears/locker are you going to get?

the track bar welds are the only ones i didn't do lol. i was having trouble with it before so i took it in to a shop and payed them to do it. but i was planing on leaving it there. and it has lasted since July. i will most likely add some gussets to it tho. :) for gears i have 4.88 and i'm leaving them open for now. but will most likely run a spool in the rear

well i tryed to buy my tires yesterday and there out of stock. so i dono what to do, my card is only good there lol.
i did find out that one of my co workers has a sweet 91 explorer that he just got from someone on the site, but i dono who lol.

got a little dune today. first i went so same club to see if the tires i wanted where in yet and they told me they didn't have any because the people at good year where on strike so it will be a little bit till i can get them :( o well.
but when i was there i saw this and got it :)
100_1189.jpg

its already help me allot lol.
and i got the Ra mount in place. :)
100_1188.jpg

100_1187.jpg

i still need to clean the mounts up allot. and i have the axle hanging by the Ra's
100_1194.jpg

what do you guys think of the angle numbers?the first is the top of the Ra and the second is the top of the ball joint

those are perfect...but they have to read the same with the weight of the vehicle on the front end...at ride height...

ya i was planning on putting the spring on and mount the bucket where it need to be, but i don't know what the spring length is with weight on it. i see that the wild horses are about 18" but im not sure if the cage springs will be the same.

OK i got the cols compressed and trying to mock up the towers. found out the cage coils are about 20" tall with the weight of the ex on them. so im thinkin of using the whole tower. think thet will be tall enough for 35?i also drilled to hools in the lower spring retainers 2" in, and im going to weld a gusset from the retainer to the ra cap so it will be one piece. and i think ima cut the bucket to fit around the bump in the frame. sound good? leme know your thaghts on this. thanks

got a little more dun today. driver side bucket is bolted in. and the drivers side bucket is ready to be cut tomorrow :)

oh i have the same ra's.

I didnt think you were getting them because of backorder or something.

lol, ya they called me 2 days later and said they had them.

ok got the driver side coil bucket half way mounted but it looks like it will fit nicely :) i still need to weld along all the edges, but i will hopefully get that dun tonight. what do you guy think?

100_1203.jpg

well it seems my measurement of the coils was wrong. seams they sit the same as the wild horses springs. so the truck sits just about where it was before, just a whole lot wider :) lol. the drive bucket is almost dun but still need to finish weld it. i will be going to pic n pull on Sunday for some steering parts :). then hopefully i can drive it till i get the 3rd for the 9" back then i will put that in :)

looks good. I like the idea of not spacing out the coil buckets and moving the lower coil mounts in two inches instead. Can you show a picture of the lower mount with the gusset you made. I might try it this way with my SAS.
