Lift kits for 5th gen. Explorer

Post number 199 has been selected as best answered.

I see the diagram that calls out the part number, but I can't find any pricing or where to order it...

post above says. Go to www.fordparts.com

Search by make, model, year.

Click on "body"> bumper> click on "view image" for any part that shows up on the list. It will pull up a separate view box with diagram on the left, parts list on the right. Scroll> down to "Call out name: HM2" expand it and then enter the quantity and click add to cart. Proceed with checkout.

Pretty simple.

Simple indeed. I was trying to do it on my tablet and the part tree to the right of the image was never appearing. Thanks!

2012 Body/suspension lift

Hello all. I did a search using the Google tool on the site and didn't find what I was looking for. If anyone knows of a previous thread discussing this, please (kindly) redirect me.

I am wondering if anyone has run into any lift systems for the new Ex. I am interested purely in the aesthetics---not for towing, off-roading, etc. My vehicle specs are in my signature. Thanks in advance.

anyone news on some lift kits for the new explorers

No, the 2011-13 are all unibody. Taller wheels might do it. :)

Looking to get a 2013 Explorer, any lift kits?

I am seriously thinking about buying 2013 explorer sport, but I want to know would it be difficult to install a lift kit on it and I want to put bigger tires. If this cant be done, I guess I would move to the expedition but I rather get the explorer instead.

are there really no lift kits for the explorer?

My mom has a 2012 limited and they sit so low, arent they on a car frame?? Why lift something so low

I believe the minimum clearance is listed at 7.6 inches so I'm guessing that is on the Base model with the 17" wheels. The Sport with the 20" wheels would have about an additional 1/2 inch clearance.
Not sure why people want to start modifying a vehicle that is under factory warranty. I'm sure that adding a lift kit would void certain parts of the warranty.
It would also affect not only the aerodynamics of the vehicle but also the handling of it.

I think you would be better off posting this in the 'Modified Explorer' forum.

The Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee are both unibody vehicles they both have lift kits. Someone will eventually design one for the Explorer if there is demand for it. I doubt it though.

Lifted Sport?

Does anyone else want to do this like I do? I know there are a few folks lowering their Explorers, but what about a small lift? I know its a unibody so the whole purpose is silly, but I think think it would look great. I bet 2" could be had with just simple coil spacers. I wonder if that would fit 33's?

Just thinking... Anyone good with photoshop?

It's coil suspension front and rear right? So it's a matter of getting the right size coil spacers and then dealing with alignment issues...right?

Are you planning on doing bigger tires or anything with the lift? With teh stock wheels/tires, to me it looks like it's begging to be lowered an inch or two. I'd love to lower mine just a tad.

I would run the stock 20" wheels, just with BFG All-Terrains or something like that. I'd like to go up a few sizes with more aggressive off-road tread.

I'd be curious to see this. Make sure you get some spacers too to widen the stance a bit, otherwise it might look like it's on stilts - tall and narrow

Alright so got this new truck had some smiley moments :) and had some disappointment moments , Smiley when took it to beach and floored it on dunes, bit smiley when took it to Water fall and it was truly hardcore stuff with big rocks my side step hit once and I had to say my Mother in Law is bit heavy but over all did Good, the side step hit on rock which costed 60 dollars to fix made me scared of hitting it on rocks so,

1)Was going crazy on the Height Issue and
2)smell under hard acceleration
after so much of Hard work on looking around i finally today found something so i decided to share here it is

http://traxda.com/11-13-ford-explorer-lift-kit-102040.html

they claim it will lift front by 2.25 and back by 1.25 if my calculations are correct it is almost as the first off road setting of Grand Cherokee which is good any one tried this yet ?????? so if anyone have put it on their explorer 2013 please share your experience.

but i can assure you my explorer almost went where my friends Nissan patrol went and did not stuck. some lift i guess will sort most of problems. :salute:

Does anyone want to sell their stock springs? I'm looking to ditch the Sport springs for the stock ones (the Sport ones are slightly lower).
