Hello everyone, just joined the form and this is my first post/thread! I sold my 94 ranger and bought a 01 explorer xlt 4dr 4x4 with 121k miles on it. One owner car from a family friend that I know personally and he took great care of it. Anyways I first wanna point out that I have done a lot of searching on the form and haven't found the answer to my question. I wanna mount some 32's tires on 15x8 rims and want to know what is the least amount of lift I can get away with. The set up I am pretty much set on is tt with shackles and then probably cut down a body lift to 1.5 in. Do you think I can fit 32's with no rubbing with this set up? I hate the look of the 3 in body lifts on top of tt/shackles plus I don't want bigger then 32's on it as I have 4:10 already in there from the factory.

Side question, I was thinking about 3.75 backspacing on the rims also. What backspacing would you guys recommend for no rubbing? I don't want my tires sticking out of the fenders very far but I also have the factory flares.

thanks for the response

I got this from the stickied thread in the Tire and Wheels forum:
"95-2001 (including 2dr 95 - present)
No lift- 31x10.50x15 on 15x8 rim or stock (15x7) rim
1-2 inch suspension lift - 32x11.50x15 on 15x8 rim/ may require some extensive fender trimming
4 inch suspension – 33x12.50x15 on 15x8 rim
2 inch body lift – 32x11.50x15 on 15x8 rim
3 inch body lift – 33x12.50x15 on 15x8 rim/ may require fender trimming
2 inch body lift and 1-2 inch suspension lift – 32x11.50x15 – 33x12.50x15 on 15x8 rim/ may require fender trimming"

Sounds like you should be good, with possibly some minor trimming. Nothing wrong with minor trimming.

3.75" is a standard backspace on aftermarket rims. Most likely your current stock rims are 4.5", so your tires would move outward just 3/4".

I ran 32" Kumho M/Ts on my 95 with a tt and warrior shackles.
