I got my truck back yesterday from 4 wheel Parts and Performance after receiving my TT and AAL, 32x11.5x15, with my ProComp 1079 wheels. I was worried that the 32's would be a bit large, but with minimal trimming it was a success!!! I will get some pics up tomorrow of all aspects of trimming that was necessary so that the next guy that does this will know what they need to trim. I have the small factory ground effects (as I call them) that had to be completely removed on the front fender, but besides that, just a little small trimming here and there and now no rubbing. I'll get more details up tomorrow when I get some pics.

Thanks for everyone who shared their knowledge with me on my first thread.

Until tomorrow.....

OK, here's some pics...

This is just a basic side shot of the X:

Here's a shot of the wheel/tire combo. I'm running 32x11.50x15 w/15x8 wheels:

I had to trim in 2 spots. Here's the first. I completely removed the bottom part of the ground effects or whatever they are from the front fender. I'm going to trim off the part that rubs and replace:

Here's the final trim spot. I had to take a little off the front valance to keep it from rubbing. I still need to to smooth out a little with the dremel:

Looks good. I noticed you're in Kennesaw. I'm in Lawrenceville. :)

I think you should pull the side skirts completely off and put some hole plugs in them. They made my truck look taller/like it had more clearance when I pulled them off when I was still on 31s. Now my truck is much taller and has a lot more clearance tho. :D

I used to have some family that lived in Lawrenceville, off 316! I haven't decided what I want to do with the side skirts yet. 4 wheels parts did the install and they said that I should remove them and put some steps on, but I really don't want steps. I would completely remove them before painting but I'm not to fond of having holes exposed across the bottom and I don't want to pay the extra cash to have them fixed, so I will probably try to modify what I have.

Thanks for the suggestion and the compliment!

(We should get together and do some off roading. I have no other friends close by to go riding with, and I'm not sure of anywhere locally to ride)

Home Depot has hole plugs for like 35cents or something that will work great.

I've got my transmission pulled right now, but I'm definitely down for some offroading after I finish reinstalling it. (this week)

im for pulling the valence and the skirts too it makes it sit highger(appears)...i have mine off right now and it has saved them from being bashed into the ground several times. Also if you want to herc them you can put masking take over the holes and spray 3 coats of herc on them. You wont be able to see them afterward.

looks real good im doing my (tt,aal, mayb shackles if i need it!!!)
on tuesday and seein ur truck done, i cant wait to go wrenchin!!!

I forgot that Depot sells the plugs. I bought some for another project vehicle once. I'll finishing taking it off this week and see if I can clean up the paint underneath. I'll get some more pics when I'm done.

Looks great!
And thats not even all that much trimming!
Good job!

Nice work, it looks great!

There is a small decrease in power, but that could be in my head. I could spin the tires from a dead stop in the X before, now it seems as though I can't. My X has a great deal of power even with the 160K miles she has on her, more than my parents '94 X with the same mileage.

I'm sure this has been discussed many times on the forum, but I was wondering what I can expect out of my speedo since I'm not recalibrating it. Will I be running 45 MPH when the speedo reads 50 MPH, or vice versa?

I'm taking off the remainder of the skirts this week and doing some clean up. I haven't decided on the front valance yet because I enjoy my factory fog lights. I'll post more pics when I get finished.

Looks very nice, thanks for sharing.

what kind of plugs are they? im curious because mine are off, and also it does look taller without them, and my valance is off, but that was ripped off by some deep mud.

awsome man

Sorry to bump this thread, but I'm hoping that someone that has taken the side skirts off their X will read this thread. I'm in need of some panel plugs for the holes left over from removing the side skirts. I live in Atlanta and have checked Advanced, Autozone, and Home Depot with no luck. I found some at Autozone, but they come in pack of 7 and I need like 40. I would like to buy less than 6 packs of something if possible, otherwise, I guess thats my only option. Any help would be great.
