lifted 2007 explorer

also which body lift did you put in? Im guessing it was from the ranger kit? I saw an 06 with a 3 inch ranger body lift on his x. Looked great. But just curious of which kit you had. Also you think you could fit anyting larger than a 33? I am prob not going to be flexing too much offroad here in fl. More mud and chizz than anything. You tihnk i could do some 34's? Not too worried if I can only handle 33. Better than the 24" rims I had on my baby bout a week ago.

Again thank you for all the advice and knowledge. Kinda a newb about lifts. I am more of the slammed layed out look. Figure I would have a change of pace and see what kinda chizz i can run over. :)

with the bodyb lift does anything else need to be changed? steering colum bracket or drivetrain or anyting? I just dont want to get the lift kit and put it in and realize im screwed and out of my dd for a week. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Body lift kit is PA883. Not specifically for Explorers so it requires a bit of modification. Look in the stickies at the top of the Modified 2002-2005 forum for a long thread about body lifts. It is worth reading the whole thing for tips, how-to's, what needs to be installed/modified, etc.

On the truxx lifts, you don't want to use more than one. Stacking two on top of each other without modifiying your upper control arms, axles, etc., is going to create big problems. Stay about 2.25" on the spacer lift and a 3" body lift and you'll be fine and able to fit 285's no problem.

Thats great! thank you so much! probably going to be asking for this kit for christmas. Need to save up as much money as possible.I already have the truxxx kit. I think I will just take a weekend off work and just knock out both lift kits. Everyones concensus(SP?) is it takes about 4 hours to put the truxx in and 8-12 depending on how many issues you have for the body lift. Thank s again. If you know anyone with pics or run into a post with a 4th gen lifted let me know! Thanks again

You said your tires are 33 x 12.5 You think 34.7 x 11.8 will fit? Just wondering how much room you have left? Wondering if i can fit some skinny 35's. Hit me up please!! I need to know. Thinking about ordering kit and tires early. Thanks !!!

I mean I know its not that special but it is the only 06 up that I know of lifted this high.

Definitely going to agree with you on that. You have restored my faith in late-model Explorers. Excellent work

Now please lose that exhaust pipe. Get an axle dump like mine that would look so good.

Agreed

where did you get the rims and what is the offset of them and the truck look awsome

Did you really need to quote every picture?

Who sells 34.7x11.8 inch tires?

Hey guys sorry for the late reply. Anyway the 06 up body lifts are alot harder than the 05 down. here is a list of some things you will run into

Rear reabar is welded on so you will have to make spacers of some kind so u can still stand on the rear cover after the lift.

front rebar is bolted on but wont work with the lift so you will have to use a 05 rebar or build one.

the body bolts are harder to get to on the 06. (had to weld a piece of metal to the pucks to keep them from spinning)

the steering extension doesnt just bolt on like the 05 down. you have to drill a whole in the shaft and bolt it on to make it safe.

I am going to take some pictures as soon as i can of the different things that have to be done.

But this can be done. i did all of mine by myself in my driveway (suspension spacers and body lift) in about 4 days. however im still working on the rear rebar spacers.

and for the other question 33 12.50 are the biggest you can fit. mine still slightly rub at full turn in reverse. not any larger will fit.

anyone needing help with these lift please pm me and ill be glad to help!!!

They are made from treadwright. Company that re-treads tires. I havent found anything wrong with them and I have been looking into this company for about 3 months. Thats the size that is listed. I have no idea why or how but thats just the size they have. I think I am going to steer away from the body lift and just stick with the truxxx lift and just throw some 32's at my x and leave it b for now.

yea the body lift is a challenge lol anyway 32's should fit with the spacers you just cant go wide. To do 12.50's you have to change the offset of the wheel which is why i got aftermarket wheels. stock explorer wheels have more of a car offset and set to far in for wide tires.

This is a nice lookin 4th gen, you should load a couple pics of it up to the Ford Explorer facebook page.

How did you guys put in the rear strut after the lift was installed. I am sitting here trying to shove it back in and I dont know what else to do. I have pretty much dissasembled(sp?) my entire rear end and I cannot figure out how. My car is out of commission so please help!!!!

Never mind got it covered.

I chained my frame to the ground and then put a jack under the left rear control arm and jacked it up until it forced the lower part of the strut in place. i bolted the upper part down first. If you dont chain the frame down then you will just lift the whole explorer and cant put enough pressure on it. left rear is the only one i had probs with. I think renzay loosened the lower control arm to get it to work. just plan on spending some time on it.

Nice! I have been showing this rig to people. Pretty awesome and (unfortunately these days) unique

Hey everyone The only problem I ran into with the back was getting the strut in and out cuz there was almost no f*ing room to remove let alone put it back in with the lift in it. I loosened the lower control arm from the vehicle and that allowed me to put the shock in and out with ease. Ill post pics tomorow since that is my only day off this week. Ill show pis front and back with what I took off. Good times. If I had to do this kit again it prob would only take 3 hours to put in really easy, but the directions from truxxx blew huge nut sack.
