The liftgate on my 93 explorer has been working fine, until I lowered it today and something happened...it is now badly misaligned, the upper edge of the liftgate crumples onto the cab roof, nothing aligns to latch, when down the liftgate is farther from the body than normal, and I don't have a clue what happened. It took more force than usual to close the liftgate and something must have bent...hinges are the logical choice to look at, but they appear intact and no obvious signs of distress. Any ideas out there ?
