Hi all,
Frustration has set in and any advice is appreciated. I have a 98 Explorer AWD 5.0 XLT Auto Trans 110,000 miles stock with a K&N air filter.
The problem started back in June with the CEL coming on occasionally but going off usually within 24 hours. Because everthing was OEM, I changed the plugs and wires, crossed 2 wires and got a backfire and CEL light on permanently. Quickly got the wires right and CEL stayed on. Pulled codes and it told me it was a bank 2 O2 sensor, replaced both, reset computer and light comes on again within 100 miles. Pulled codes- you guessed it- Bank 1 O2 sensor- replaced both-reset computer. Runs great for about 100 miles then light comes on. Getting ticked off now so take it to a Ford Master mechanic. His computer diagnosis says it's a lean condition and most likely One of the intake gaskets. Pain in the arse job so I replace both upper and lower gaskets, PCV and all vacume lines. Reset Computer. Runs great for about 100 miles CEL comes on. Now I am getting the following codes:
P0102 System too rich
P1000 Systems readiness test not complete
O1260 Theft detected Immobilizer
Thank you,
Brad
