Lincoln Aviator / Cobra Engine Swap

Hi, I am a newb to this site. I just bought an 03 Lincoln aviator with a blown motor. I was looking for help on swaping the motor. Since it shares ford dohc cobra motor. For the cost of another aviator engine it seems smarter to but a mustang cobra shortblock. So I was wondering if its possible to buy a cobra short block( perferrably a 5.0 stroker) and have it installed and the aviator parts swapped over onto it. Any suggestions would be great.

Yes the blocks will swap but a little more info would be helpful to get you pointed in the right direction, mileage on the aviator and what are u looking for from it like dd, tow vehicle, or flat out race truck?
