my 2000 xls makes the following sounds

-THE BAD-
-whine from the power steering when pulling into a parking spot
-chirps from the plastic interior stuff in the trunk under the windows
-sway bar end links squeeking when i hit bumps
-front differential squeling while in 4 wheel drive

-THE GOOD-
-intake powering the engine it rumbles real nice!
-exhaust sounds like a speed boat
-and the really loud tire squeek i get when i lay rubber

my 1997 explorer has a wheel noise i asked the guy i bought it from when the ball joints etc were replaced he said everything was done 3 to 7 months ago so im thinking its the brand of tires that are on it? the noise starts at 10mph its a loud hum but stops when i hit 20mph slowing down after goin 55mph so it is the brand of tires? if not then what?

i would check the alignment by looking at the tires, and taking a penny or something and check in all the sipes of the tire to see if your tire is wearing evenly.. if it is wearing differently at different parts of the tire, or if the tire feels uneven, then i would get your tires aligned. if everything with the actual tire feels okay, then i would check the balancing. -- that's if it is the tires.. sounds like it could be

Surprisingly, after being 12 years old, and 127k miles. Mine makes no noises... kinda depressing, but at the same time really good!

My damn truck goes

sh....sh....sh....sh....sh with every rotation of the drivers side wheel, but only when loaded (not when jacked in the air). I have narrowed it down to do with something with my bearing. I can crank the bearing down tight and it will stop, but at that point the bearing is too tight.

GRRRRRR!

NASTY Clicking from the sub woofer, i think its a little over powered, 8" Punch in Stock Enclosure with 300W cheap ass amp, with different resistance values on both...Opps
Click/clank/thud from TT, Shackles... No idea where from in particular
General Rattle from all interior molding due to 1800W unit to 4 door speakers...
Wind Tunnel Sound effect from sun roof front seal not being quiet tight enough, plan on addressing this one with some form of tape

All in All nothing the volume nob on the radio cant fix!

hoping someone could help me. Not every time, but very often when the vehicle is in park and I turn my truck off I hear like 4 or 5 clunks sounds like its coming from front pass side. any body experience anything similar?

its a 99 xlt 4.0 ohv

97 Explorer XLT AWD

The driver side front makes a metal on metal thunk whenever going over a large bump, frontend suspension appears very loose however no visiable wear on any under carrriage componets. A leaking AC unit resulted in a constant engaging and disengaging of the AC clutch. ANNOYING!

when im accelerating from like a 55 mph roll or up a hill i get a clicking noise and have no clue what it is. the driver door also wants to get stuck like its out of alignment.

door rattles, front goes kaclunk when hard breaking cuz if loose rivets in front. windows rattle cuz of massive subs. and truck goes VAROOM when i hit the skinny peddle on the right!!!

With the wheel all the way over, the power steering pump whines.
Annoying hum from the drivetrain when I'm cruising.
Brakes groan when I stop.

Well lets see here I got a real loud rumble comin' out the back (might be the exhaust) that gets even louder when I go faster. The tires have this high pitched noise when the red light turns green and there's a Mack truck comin' up from behind. Also theres this loud air-sucking noise comin' from the passenger side, I'm gonna guess that's the CAI........that's about it besides the very back passenger speaker rattles when the bass is too high.

Let's see, I have...

-The common clunk when I hit a large bump too hard
-Subs rattle every single freaking thing in the car
-Groans when I turn full lock
-exhaust rattles a little then in reverse and going slow
-and best of all, that cherrybomb roars just about all the time

Oh, and occasionally the springs squeak a little, but somehow they only squeak when the car is parked in a secluded area, mostly late at night.

Lots of other noises, but not to worry, I can drown them out with the sound system.

Well... I dont have any thats not mentioned yet exept for the swearing girl next to me, being angry at the other drivers for driving like sh´t..

Driver side vindow jumps around when rolled down making a noise that can be expained.. And its making me nuts.. some of u know it..

klonk klonk after i got the big tires on.. just had that fixed.. until the tire change.. now its here again and even worse...

When i turn it off the antenna motor sounds like its dying, not grabbing the antenna before i run out and give it some help getting strted...

When its cold, it sounds like my fuel pump is right where my radio is...

And all plastic sounds like its falling off whenever i drive over uneven placesin the road...

Whistling from the cheese job.. thats ok.. dont mind..

but im sure i have the most noisy vehicle in madrid... My girls little yaris is so quiet inside next to the ford... And, i know that its actually kind of noisy compared to normal sized cars...

But some clutch on the stereo makes it all go away....

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!!!!

my 35's howl all the time i love it, the engine tic tic tic when cold, the exhaust is deep and throaty. my rear locker makes my tire drag when i turn corners, my ps pump wines.... when ever the wheel is moved. my d rings clank when i hit bumps, my lift springs creek when i flex. my one dead rancho shock clunks when hitting bumps rocks and pot holes. ohh and my bumper goes thud thud thud when i hit them little orange and white thingys with the flashing orange lights. ahhhhh yes i remember now orange barrels and construction signs. im sure there is a ton more.....

oh and one more the driver yells and makes rude gestures when angry at the smaller traffic.

Dash rattle

When im driving on the highway, my 1999 XLT SOHC makes an annoying rattle like a mouse running on a wheel coming from the dash. Trying like hell to figure out how to fix it.
