I have a 1996 Ford Explorer and just installed a class III hitch today. I purchased a Hoppy plug in 4-pin harness (no splicing required). Where is the trailer wiring located so I can plug this in? Thanks for any help.
Do you have the Hoppy 40915? I JUST installed mine (meaning - plugged it in) about 20 minutes ago. The factory pigtail on my 1996 Explorer Sport is up in the bumper, about mid-point between the license plate and the passenger side tail-light. It looks like this....
(although, if you've never used it, it may have the factory dirt-plug installed, covering the female connector plugs - just pull out the cover plug).
